About Pinehurst No. 2
Pinehurst No. 2 is Donald Ross's masterpiece and the crown jewel of American golf course architecture. Famous for its turtleback (crowned) greens that repel anything but a perfect approach, Pinehurst rewards strategic placement over raw distance. The 2014 restoration by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw returned the course to its sandy, native vegetation roots — making it a unique blend of old-world charm and modern playability. It's hosted three US Opens and is the permanent home for the championship in alternating years going forward.
